North East Florida - Sawgrass & the Atlantic Coast
Mostly famous for TPC Sawgrass, home each year of The PLAYERS Championship, Sawgrass lies just south of Jacksonville, in the "First Coast" region of northeast Florida. The area is centered on the banks of the St. Johns River, about 25 miles south of the Georgia border and about 340 miles north of Miami
Just south lies St. Augustine, the United States' oldest city, which also holds the distinction of being one of the nation's most charming. BEST TIME TO VISIT: The best golfing weather can be found March-May and late-September-early November. The humidity can be uncomfortably high during summer months while frost are quite common mid-winter.
