The Golden Isles, Georgia

The Golden Isles of Georgia are a group of four barrier islands on the 100-mile-long coast of Georgia on the Atlantic Ocean. They include St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, and Little St. Simons Island. Since the American Civil War, the islands have become eliteresorts frequented by some of the nations wealthiest families. The islands' goodweather and natural beauty have made the area an exclusive place to live and visit with picturesque luxury resorts and superb golf.

Designed in the Addison Mizner Mediterranean-style tradition of the original, The Cloister offers elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites on Sea Island. Among many amenities offered by Sea Island Resorts are three championship golf courses, nine dining venues, 16 tennis courts, state-of-
the-art meeting and banquet facilities, an award-winning 65,000 square-foot spa and fitness facility, a nationally recognized children's programme, and five miles of private beach.

The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club is a premier hideaway for those seeking privacy and classic luxury. This southeast golf vacation lodging is reminiscent of an English country manor. And with world-class golf, exceptional diningoptions, 24-hour butler service, and invigorating activities. Most guest rooms overlook the emerald fairways or the Atlantic Ocean.

There are 9 tennis courts, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and a Surfside Beach Club. In addition, the hotel offers a regulation size croquet lawn and bicycle rentals year-round. The Club's guest rooms and suites have been custom-decorated in a style befitting the elegance. Rooms feature fireplaces and/or Jacuzzi tubs and all rooms feature multiple telephones, AM/FM clock radios and an array of custom bath amenities. Today's guests praise the Club's culinary delights served in two distinctive Jekyll Island restaurants and a popular bakery-delicatessen.

A beautiful atrium lobby with its indoor heated pool and hot tub leads guests into this resort. There are 187 handsomely decorated guest rooms comprised of oceanfront rooms, oceanfront cabanas, resort view rooms, and standard rooms in a variety of settings. Amenities on site include a concierge desk, four outdoor pools, two clay tennis courts, recreational rentals, ocean access, a fitness exercise room, and a full service restaurant.
